Thanks, that was very informative, the difference between the 1x12 and the others is more striking than I'd expect. Where was the mic placed for each recording?

Victor - I currently own a Scorpion and a 2x12 with G12H30's (bought used). Excellent gear and very much appreciated. I normally play with the volume on ~3, the power dampening on ~4, and most of the overdrive provided by a Fulltone OCD in front. I'd like to crank it higher to get the "sweet spot" for tone, but for that I'd need to use a power attenuator, and would prefer not to do that.

I'm interested in getting a Mojave 1x12 to make it easier to carry to practice spaces, and would like your opinion on the WGS Reaper 30 speakers for this purpose. I don't know anything about them, but am curious of the differences between those and the G12H30's.

Do you know the turn around time for the 1x12's? Would it be possible to be shipped within two weeks of ordering, or is it a longer wait time?

--- New topic ---
I'm thinking of buying another Mojave amp (new this time), but need to ask some questions before making a decision. The price on the Scorpion is great, and even appears to be a lot less expensive than the Sidewinder HG. I love the Scorpion sound but don't know if the Sidewinder HG can get the same sounds (being EL84 based), or if there are tones the Sidewinder HG can get that the Scorpion just can't. Is it an "Apples to Oranges" comparison or are they similar products, just slightly different configurations?

Thanks for your time.

Great test - everyone wants to haul less gear. Huge difference between 1 x12 and 2x 12. Unless your going for a really "garage" sound, I wouldn't ever think about a 1 x 12 again

Victor.... your remix blew me away. I really like it and think it is better than the radio hit version. How did you do it. Did you get your hands on the original tracks?

Well I'm glad I got mine in time. This amp rips!

I totally agree. If more people had the chance to plug into this amp and try it out they would get Vic to make some more.

Thanks to both Vic and Alex for making these tones possible!

People... don't miss out.

There are probably a few still out there...

Man that's a shame.

The Dirty Boy covers so much ground across the tone spectrum than what the name of the amp implies. I truly believe if more players had hands-on access to this amp, there would be more players using them.

I spent the better part of two years looking for an amp, and had almost given up until I came across Mojave AmpWorks. First time plugging in my Les Paul to the Dirty Boy, I knew I was hooked..... In a matter of speaking I renamed the amp the "Tone Boy," because it is a true tone monster.

Thanks for all your hard work Vic, for I have been a beneficiary of that dedication to your attention to quality and workmanship.... You have a customer for life.

Darn Vic that's a shame. This is likely the best built, most amazing amp I've had the chance to play. The sounds it is capable of are inspiring and varied.

It's even better constructed than Alex Saraceno's originals - by a large margin.

In time this will become a classic and highly collectible.

Ok, after listening to numerous demo's and watching video's, I decided I can't do without a sidewinder. The tone is phenominal! I tried many amps and owned many amps. Right now my 1972 Marshall 1987 head has been the cream of the crop with creamy thick lead tone, not like the raspy JCM800's which I also owned, but they sound "steril" compaired to my 50 watter Marshall. My Marshall is one of the few that had the good components that day when they built it. I have to pick up the sidewinder. I can't stop listening to the demo's!! Forget what I said above about affording it. Everyone that see's or hear's a new botique says the same thing. Honestly, they're all expensive! This isn't priced too bad compared to fuchs or Two Rock. I play Southern Rock and "Grindy" heavy blues and this amp is going to fit the bill! Can't wait to order one!!

Great sound! There's something about these amps that the mids are "gindy" and stand out. Most new amps are too thin on the highs but the Mojave amps aren't. I just wish I could afford one!!
